SEA use machined gears not cast; cast gears are often used in less reliable systems as the are cheaper to produce.

SEA only offer underground operators with oil filled gear boxes. You wouldn't drive a car with a grease filled gear box so why accept it in your gate automation, the grease will only lubricate the operator for the first six months soon spreading to the outside of the casing offering no long term lubrication.
